THE OASIS BAND: You Never Let Go
Alive '08!

People love to attend concerts, especially when it's great music, it's in their own backyards and it's free. So, in the wake of last year's Alive Outdoor success, First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem is doing it again. Get ready for fun in the sun and under the stars at Alive '08, FPC's 2nd Annual Free Outdoor Concert on Saturday, October 4 starting at 1 pm. This year's line up includes Nashville headliner Shirock, FPC's Oasis Band and worship service, indie band Life in Colour, a swingin' Big Band and the impassioned vocals of Amy Courts. Invite your friends, bring your lawn chairs and stay for the day. Check out the car show, browse the exhibitor's area and munch on some tasty BBQ.

Please join us in promoting Alive '08 at FPC Bethlehem by sharing the information throughout your church, with your staff and congregation, and your youth and young adult groups. It's local and it's free. All we ask is that you partner with us by bringing a non-perishable food item to benefit our local mission partner, New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem.

On behalf of FPC Bethlehem, I would like to thank you for your assistance and look forward to seeing you at Alive '08.

The Line Up...

SHIROCK
Shirock band promo picture
SHIROCK, a Nashville based progressive pop band, is the headliner for Alive '08, FPC's 2nd Annual Free Outdoor Concert. SHIROCK is a young & ambitious band with a big sound & many big ideas… but at the heart of it all is a group of young friends searching for answers, focusing on emotional & honest song writing, and connecting with fans hoping to make an impact in their culture. SHIROCK has just finished recording their official debut record. The pre-release EP, "SHIROCK /// 5" is out now, and the full-length release will be out fall 2008. Both the record and the EP are SHIROCK at their absolute best… emotionally charged powerful music with thought provoking and earnest lyrics. Recently 2 songs from the SHIROCK /// 5 EP, "New Solution" & "Say It Out" were used on MTV's hit show The Hills. The song "Time Goes By" from the upcoming full-length release was also used on The Hills. SHIROCK is managed by PMC, alongside such acts as Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, All American Rejects, Plain White T's, and more.

AMY COURTS

With the July 2008 release of the independent follow-up to her 2005 EP, These Cold and Rusted Lungs, Amy Courts shows with effortless fluency that she is indeed here to stay. With her trademark impassioned vocals, captivating melodies, and audacious honesty, she ably takes on love, heartache, spirituality, and personal demons. Though her voice and songs invoke inevitable comparisons to great singer-songwriters like Jennifer Knapp, Patty Griffin and Derek Webb, her sound and experience are uniquely her own, and are delivered with a rare distinction.

THE OASIS BAND LIVE

The Oasis Band Live is releasing their first full-length CD this fall.

LIFE IN COLOUR
Life In Color band
Life In Colour is a 3 piece rock band based out of the Lehigh Valley. With musical influences in everything from the rockin Foo Fighters, to Coldplay, to even remote styles such as bluegrass and jazz-their music is a lifestyle. They use music to speak to one another in ways that words cannot explain.
